Personal Statement

My name is Drake Ayala.

I was born in Hurst -Euless -Bedford, Texas and raised in the Fort Worth and Denton, Texas area. I was a student athlete and attended Braswell High School, in the Denton ISD whereby I recently graduated last month.

At the age of 4, I started playing the sport I love – baseball! I tried my hand at Soccer, but, it just wasn’t for me. It was all about baseball! I have played continually, every season, since I was 4. I began playing Select ball when I was 9 and have been on numerous AAA and Major level teams as well as playing and representing my high school, community, family to the best of my abilities.

During the off season, I concentrated on continuing with the training Coach Donnie Watson. He taught us how to train using the dynamic warm-up, weight lifting, and and various baseball drills. I concentrated on working out to do what I could to get faster, stronger. I focus on having balanced meals.

In my pastime, I love to meet my friends and play pick-up games of basketball, work out and work on my car. In college, I want would like to earn a degree in Engineering and/or Business with hopes of one day working on a career in automobiles. However, first and foremost, I want to be a professional baseball player!

During the school year, I worked hard on my grades to make sure I do what I can to continue to play baseball for a good college in hopes of earning a scholarship. I’ve volunteered on several occasion for my schools in our training camps and helping coaches teach the young kids baseball drills. Last summer I took training sessions to learn how to be an umpire.

On the field, I am a versatile, all-around player and focus on being a positive influence to the team. I was a starter on the Varsity team all my years in high school and on the various select teams i played on. As I grow both physically and mentally, I strive to be an asset to the team, coaches and school. I adapt easily and can play wherever I am needed, I don't ever complain and believe in making the best of any situation. I can play both infield and outfield. As a Junior, i was the teams starting Second baseman , where I was selected to the Second All District Team for Second Base, and as a Senior i was placed full time as the teams Center Fielder where I was selected 1st team all district center fielder. In the line-up, Coach Donnie Watson used me either lead off or second in the batting order. Throughout the years, I’ve also pitched for some teams. However, it has been a while. I conduct myself with honor and respect on and off the field to ensure I represent myself, my team, my coaches, parents, and the school I attend in a positive way.

Thank you for taking a moment of your valuable time to read my profile. I truly appreciate it! And hope to hear back from you and talk about baseball! And college.

Sincerely,

Drake Ayala

  • Braswell Bengals Win - 4-2. Drake has a solid game. Breaks a scoreless time with first run and also has a triple in the game! Makes throw from CF to Home that was one of the most exciting defensive plays of the game. Threw a rocket that catcher just missed by a split second getting the sliding runner out @ then plate! Such a great play that didnt get called our way. :)

  • Wichita Falls HS @ Braswell Bengals - Conference Game
  • 4/03/18 to 4/03/18
  • Bengals won the game 20-1. it was called in the 5th. Drake went 2-4, reached first with hit by pitch, and also reached on a pass ball @ the plate. Stole 2 bases and was solid in CF. Drake started the scoring with beginning a 2 out rally. First hit was a hard drive to shallow left. Second hit was a hard hit up the middle. One was caught in deep right. last one was a hard hit ball that short caught and barely threw Drake out @ first.
  • Camp/Event
  • Braswell Bengals at Sherman - Conference Game
  • 3/30/18 to 3/30/18
  • Great performance by Drake. Goes 3-4 at the plate. The out was a ball hit deep right center. Best play of the game was defensively. Drake runs at full speed catches a ball hit high and deep left center! Just before it hits the fence. Which is about 370. Crowd goes nuts! Great job Drake and the Bengals!
  • Camp/Event
  • Sherman @ Braswell Bengals - Conference Game
  • 3/26/18 to 3/26/18
  • Sherman won the game 5-2. Drake went 2 for 3. No strikeouts. 1 single to right. 1 drag bunt single beating out throw to first. One caught in deep right center.

  • First Conference Game - Braswell Bengals vs Denton Ryan Raiders
  • 3/20/18 to 3/20/18
  • Gonna be a good one! Drake's previous high school... Bengals win 4-0! Drake steals a couple of bases and scores to break a 0-0 game in the 3rd..Also had a solid game @ CF, Raider hits ball to deep in the gap between right and center, batter is streaks past first about to round second and coach holds runner at second due to Drake's arm. Drake get that ball in asap! on a perfect throw to his cut-off, runner would have been thrown out @ third should he have attempted the run. Good move Raider - in which he never scrored! Solid game Bengals and Drake!

Training

  • Complete Athlete "Prep U" Player Development Camps
  • 2 years
  • Prep-U was designed to fill the knowledge gaps players often have regarding really playing baseball the right way. Too often coaches aren’t equipped or are too distracted to school young athletes on the skills and game IQ that can take a player from average to outstanding as he pursues higher play. Prep-U handles those lessons in addition to teaching athletes on the basics of the CompleteAthlete performance-science template. As always, it is our goal to help young athletes avoid the risks of injury while reaching their genetic potential. We are dedicated to reversing the epidemic of injuries among up-and-coming players through a fundamental understanding of our four performance models.
