Hello, my name is Colin Sawyers. I am a 6’3” Small Forward with Grapevine Texas Express, AAU. I fell in love with the game when I attended my first NBA game in the 4th grade. I knew at that moment Basketball was going to be a huge part of my life. I played for a few years with a community and church league until I was able to play on my Middle School team. It wasn’t until my freshman year when I finally slimmed down and grew taller to match my big feet and hands. It was then when I realized this game could change my life. Not by unrealistic dreams, but by how it has made me work harder in school so I could be the first in my family to attend college and graduate with a degree. All while playing the sport I love.
Why do I feel I am a great recruit for your team? I am passionate about the game. I am a team player, have a strong work-ethic, high basketball IQ, and an unwavering desire to consistently improve my skills.
Why do I feel I am different from other players? I am coachable. I feel there is always room for improvement. You will never know what you are capable of if you are unwilling to listening and learn.
I am looking for a program that will challenge me to do my very best academically and athletically.
