Personal Statement

As a student athlete, my goal is to use my athletic ability to earn a college degree.   I will work hard each and everyday to be the best student, teammate and person I can.  As a high school student, I have learned that my academics are just as important as my play on the field.  If I am not eligible to play, I not only let myself down, but also my school, my teammates and my coaches.    As an athlete on the smaller size, I find that I have to work harder than others.  I learned a valuable lesson in my Freshman year when I lost my starting spot to another player.  I was very upset and disappointed but continued to work hard and support my teammates from the role I was given.  During this difficult time, I learned that the only way to earn my spot back was to be focused, supportive and be ready when my number was called.  When I finally got that chance, I took full advantage of it.  I raised my average and play in the field to when it would be hard for coaches to take me off the field.  At the conclusion of the season, I was recognized by my coaches for handling the situation and not "complaining or pouting" about my reduced role.  This time in my life taught me that when faced with a challenge, you have to find other ways to be a part of the team and personally I was forced to rise to the opportunity before me.  Being unselfish and part of a team is very important to me.  I look forward to using these lesson as I advance my career on and off the field.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
