La'roi Powell '21 Recruiting Profile

I aspire to study Computer Science in college, to become a "Software Engineer." While studying, I desire to enhance my baseball skills on the collegiate level.  Over the past twelve years, I have played baseball from recreational baseball teams to my current team, the NTX Roughnecks, a showcase team.  As a high school student, I have strived to achieve my academic and athletic abilities on and off the field. I hope to continue my journey to becoming a professional baseball player through commitment, dedication, and hard work. It is essential to have two qualities in my life: integrity and character because those two characteristics were instilled in me by my parents. Over the years, my coaches have called me a leader, although I did not see nor understand what they meant. However, now I know as I prepare for my next steps in life, I have to carry a leader's attitude to become the best person on and off the baseball field.
