Playing Catcher in baseball has helped me prepare for life in general. I understand the importance of teamwork to reach a common goal. Understanding the importance of having a strong foundation has helped me maintain my focus on practicing what I love to do- play baseball. In order to continue to play and compete with the stronger competition, I must maintain excellent grades. Practice is crucial in both academics and in baseball. This has not come easy in either case but only helped me to learn the importance of practicing. The leadership skills I learned in my sophomore year while playing Varsity Baseball helped me further recognize the importance of acknowledging others and we excelled as a team to go 4 deep in State playoffs. I am eager to learn new things and expand my knowledge. Being a supportive teammate not only to my Varsity team but also to the under-classmen is crucial to our overall success. Setting a positive example is very important to me and I strive to make good decisions, in my academics, my sport, and in social areas of my life. I am aware that situations can change in a blink of an eye and that bad decisions do not only affect myself, but others as well. I aspire to play baseball at the collegiate level, and hopefully after I obtain my degree. I want to continue to serve as a mentor to younger players for a very long time. I have been dreaming of this opportunity since I was 8 years old and am very dedicated to the Game. I feel that these combined attributes set me apart from other recruits. Baseball is in my heart!
