I can’t remember a time when baseball wasn’t my passion. I’ve played football, basketball, and ran track, but baseball has always been where my heart’s at. Some might say it’s an obsession-from watching MLB Network daily to keep up with trades, scores, and strategies at the highest level to traveling across the country attending specialized catcher training camps to visiting eight different MLB ballparks. Outside of my high school & travel team practices, you’ll find me nearly every day of the year committing time to my baseball training from blocking, receiving, and hitting off my Iron Mike at home to staying after school catching bullpens and taking batting practice. I’ve been catching since I was six years old and have loved every inning of it. Being vocal and taking charge of the field during games are two of my strongest assets as a catcher, but also vital to my role is making it my business to know how to play every position on the field and know where everyone should be on any specific play. Having a competitive nature might be a bit of an understatement, but simply put, I do everything I can to help my team win. Over the years, I have learned that being a positive & uplifting teammate (in my body language, my words & my actions) builds team spirit and can change the momentum of a game or even the entire season.
Academically, I am in the top 4% of my class while carrying a rigorous course load of honors, AP & Dual Credit classes. My goal is to play baseball at a college that will challenge me academically & athletically. I believe I have a "total package" of baseball skills, knowledge, competitiveness, high academic performance, and leadership that will make me the right fit for your team.
