Personal Statement

I am a 6’0” center fielder from Houston, TX. I have been playing baseball for more than eight years. In addition, I am a triple sport athlete who competes at the varsity level for water polo and swimming, beginning my freshman year, and varsity baseball my sophomore year. I actively participate year-round on select baseball teams, summer swim, and am taking an original credit, dual credit college course this summer. My GPA is 3.7, and I am proud of the fact that I can balance playing three sports, participating in high school clubs, and maintaining my academics. I consider myself a leader who continues to learn and grow every year. I take pride in what I do on and off the field, and I am a hard worker who successfully focuses on completing each task I am given.

My goal is to attend a larger school in Texas with a strong business program. I would like to play on a competitive team and aim to play at the highest level possible, which can further my athletic and career futures. I plan to double major in finance and accounting, and I am confident that I can successfully manage my academic and athletic responsibilities.

  • Reece is a 2026 OF/RHP who showcased his skills during the BF Academic All-American Tournament. In the OF he shows athletic actions and tracks ball to glove. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 78mph. On the mound he works with good direction down the mound and lands in a good fielding position. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 74mph, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball, and an 11/5 shaped slider with tight spin. At the plate he hits from a narrow and square stance with high hands. He shows good bat to ball skills. Has a quiet head and level eyes during his AB's. In live game action, he made consistent contact and reached base 2 times with a single and a walk. With continued development we foresee Reece having a bright future on the baseball field.
  • Camp/Event
  • Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City
  • 12/27/22 to 12/30/22
  • Reece showed well in his baseball abilities at the Pirate City event. In the OF, he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry but needs to work to get rid of the ball sooner. At the plate, power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 73 mph. Fastball showed a range of 70-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.
  • Camp/Event
  • Baseball Factory Arizona Freshman Fall Classic (2026)
  • 10/12/22 to 10/16/22
  • Reece is a coachable OF/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Fall Classic. In the field, Reece shows smooth footwork with a quick first step. He gets into an athletic position and fields with a relaxed glove. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a controlled stride. He gets into a simple load and works through a level swing, producing solid contact. On the mound, Reece gathers over the rubber and works with a clean arm. He stays inline toward the plate and takes a proper stride. Reece operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72mph. Breaking ball sits from 58-60mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 63-64mph. Overall, Reece is a talented prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.
