My goal is to play D1 baseball for an organization committed to their players and their player’s education. I have always proven myself as a solid piece to the team and a player that the coach, and teammates, can have trust in. Trust on the field, trust in the classroom and trust to represent my team and myself in my community. I understand I am always representing my team, my family, and my friends.
From little league days to being a freshman varsity catcher I have taken the approach that the team will only be as good as the collective. Because of this I have always tried to take the players towards the bottom of the roster and help them improve with (outside of practice) activities like extra BP, extra fielding, plate approach and strength & conditioning advice.
I have always been a multi-sport athlete throughout my freshman year (Baseball, Track, and Basketball) until I fully committed to baseball during my sophomore year. I have grown up in the weight room and have a huge internal commitment to building and retaining strength. I believe this is one of the reasons I have had so much success in all the sports and games that I have played in and I will continue to stay strong and increase my strength, flexibility and endurance.
I have always committed myself to the team and have welcomed the leadership roles that have been placed on me. My respect for all my teammates and my ability to help them rise to a greater level has always made the team I am on better.
My physical presence has always preceded me, and I have had to, and have successfully, lived up to it. As a 6' 00”, 200 lb, Junior batting 4th in the lineup I have to take advantage of every decent pitch because I do not see many of them. Throughout High School I have maintained a .500+ batting and .750+ on base percentage. My exit velocity is consistently in the high 90’s and I continually guide the game from behind the plate.
In summary, my goal is to play D1 baseball for an organization that will be as much committed to me as I will be committed to the organization. I will commit myself to do what I can to make a winning team through my actions on the field, in practice, and in the classroom. I am looking forward to being coached at the next level and be a part of strong conference play.
