When I put my mind to something I do it. My motivation to play at the college level stems from my love of competition. I enjoy the technical and statistical side of baseball and I like to study the core mechanics and techniques of good pitching. While I am pitching I like to be in control of the game around me and make the batter adjust to what I do, and never let them feel in control of their own at-bat. I train with the Texas Baseball Ranch and Kevin Beirne pitching coach (NPA Southwest Regional Director). I attend the Academy of Science and Technology at College Park which has helped me grow academically and mentally as I strive through the challenges that the accelerated learning program presents. I want to study mechanical engineering in college and play baseball at the highest level possible.
I was performing my best Sophomore/Junior summer. At 150 lbs I was throwing consistently 85-86 in the game and I had hit 90 off a run-n-gun at the Baseball Ranch. Around the beginning of Junior Year I started having intense bicep pains while throwing. I went from throwing 85-86 to 80-81 in a matter of days. For the longest time I was too scared to reach out to coaches about college because I didn't want to show them an incomplete version of myself.
When quarantine hit I made 2 goals for myself. The first being to get rid of the Bicep pain in my arm, and the second being improving my mechanics, gaining weight and growing stronger. As of June of of 2020, I can proudly say that after countless hours of chiropractic therapy, towel drills, and timing and sequencing training, that I have been without bicep pain for an entire month. As for the second goal, I currently weight 165 lbs and I am still gaining. I am working out every other day at Iron will sports complex and I am eating around 4,000 calories a day. On the days that I am not working out I am working with Texas Pitching coach, Kevin Beirne, on my mechanics. Right now my mechanics look way more polished than they have ever been, and I feel like a brand new Pitcher. (I am working on uploading a recent video of my pitching.)
I truly believe that it is only uphill for me from here. I have a fire in my belly to come back this senior year and pitch my best baseball.
