As a 2021 graduate, I am very excited to begin preparation for my college journey. Although I have been a baseball junky since I was very young, academics are very important to me, and I strive to excel in all aspects of my academic and athletic life. I have been playing high level travel baseball year round since I was 10 years of age, beginning in Dallas, Texas and for the past 5 years in The Woodlands, Texas. I attend The John Cooper School, an academically challenging private college prep school in The Woodlands, Texas, which competes in the Southern Preparatory Conference with other top academic schools. I played one season as the goalie on the junior varsity team at the high school my freshman year. I have pitched the last 5 seasons for the Lynx Baseball Club, under coach Alan Dick, and my pitching coach has been Scott Strickland, former 8 year major league pitcher. I played last summer for the East Cobb Patriots (Atlanta, GA) 2021 team for Mr. Jim Lovejoy, and was named to the All Tournament team as a pitcher in both the 2019 Perfect Game 17U East Cobb Invitational and the Perfect Game 2020 Grad or 17U World Wood Bat Championship in Cartersville, GA. I will continue My East Cobb Patriots career again this summer. I have been successful as a left-handed starting pitcher, and I believe that I have the ability to make a major impact on a college program both on and off the field. I hope to attend a strong academic school, as I also am considering a career in medicine. My work ethic, my upbeat personality, and my desire to learn are my strongest attributes.
I am very energetic, supportive of my teammates, a leader on the field and in the dugout, and I am known for being able to understand my pitching fundamentals and correct them in-game when I might be a little "off" on a certain day. I truly take input from coaches seriously, and am always learning. I pride myself on my baseball IQ, and I am working hard with Coach Ron Wolforth and Coach Massey at Texas Baseball Ranch this Fall/Winter to increase my strength, to improve my mechanics, and to increase my velocity. I am now at 84-85 mph (and rising) on my 4-seamer, but also throw a 2-seamer, 12-6 curveball, and a strikeout pitch changeup (my best pitch). I have also grown 3 inches in the last year and am still growing. I always like to bring energy and enthusiasm to my team, and really enjoy the mental side of pitching... especially pitching inside and changing eye levels. I have also been a starting Goalie on the JV soccer team and have been involved with volunteerism and theater.
I truly hope for the opportunity to play baseball at the next level, and I feel that my history of being a successful lefty starter on the mound, my coachability, my energy and effort to always improve, my ability to succeed in the mental side of the pitching game, and my team-oriented attitude will be a true asset to any college and to any college program that will give me an opportunity to play at the next level!
