My name is Cameron Johnson. I'm from Waco, TX, and I'm 16years old. I have just completed my sophomore year in high school and I play both baseball or Midway High School, a large 6A public school. In baseball my primary positions are pitcher and 3B. I pitch from a RH 3/4 release position and I have four pitches (2 seam and 4 seam fastball, changeup, and slider). My pitching record for the Summer 2022 season was 8-0 (5 complete games and 5 shutouts). My stats were 41.2 IP, 167 BF, 3 ER, BB 14, SO 51, ERA .606, WHIP 1.038, LOB 32, and OBA .200. SO 30% of batters. My fastball was routinely in the high 80s and topped at 89-90 MPH. I finished the summer season by being chosen to represent the South at the USA Baseball NTIS Champions Cup, where I pitched 7 scoreless innings without giving up a run and struck out 9 batters. My goal is to play college baseball at the highest level possible and am willing to do whatever it takes to get there. I started playing baseball when I was 5 and haven't stopped since. My coach since first grade has been Billy Brewer of the Waco Storm, who pitched almost 10 years in the minors and MLB. He has instructed me as a pitcher, hitter, and player since I was 6 years old. I have played for the Waco Storm since 8U ball and I am currently playing on the top Storm 17U select team.
Academics are also very import to me since I want to be either an MD or an engineer. I scored a 23 on the ACT as a 7th grader and earned Duke Talent Search recognition. I also scored in the 99th percentile on the PSAT 8/9 test as an 8th grader. My PSAT score as a 10th grader was 1250, which was in the 95th percentile for sophomore test takers. I intend to take all my core courses in high school on the pre-AP and AP level, along with four years of pre-AP and AP Spanish foreign language classes. My current GPA is 105.22 and I am ranked 17 in my class out of 694 students. I strive to be a well-rounded scholar athlete who is also involved in school choir, church, and Boy Scouts. My current rank in Scouting is Life Scout, which is the second highest possible rank. My goal is to obtain the highest rank of Eagle by age 16.
