I have dreamed of playing college ball since my baseball journey began at 4 years old. I have not missed a season of playing since I began. I have been on both select and school ball since 8th grade and have always enjoyed maintaining both schedules and extremely thankful for all the my mom has sacrificed to make that possible for me.
Baseball has taught me what striving for goals means as well as how hard some are to achieve and how amazing the feeling is when you do. It has taught me discipline, consistency and definitely been what has taught me respect – for players and the game. Early in my baseball career pitching began to reveal itself as my passion and even with early success and high praise from my coaches, I also learned defeat and remained humble on both sides. A delicate balance in a sport that can easily push you towards a big ego. I have been told my entire baseball career by coaches that I am a natural at the game and that I am incredibly talented – compliments are appreciated but I have always felt I have a lot to learn and I am hoping for the opportunity to do that at the college level.
I have been a natural leader on each of my teams, falling into that role and enjoy it. I remain positive when the game gets tough and modest when it's going well - I never celebrate a personal "win" (homerun, strike out, etc.) because we are a team. Baseball is not an individual sport but it is a team of individuals and I owe it to my team to bring my best to the field every single game.
I am hungry for a chance and ready to take on the challenge of the next level, whichever road that may be. Even though I am most confident pitching and also love CF, I am open to any position and any opportunity. I also know that some of the best players in the game were “the best” in positions they had no idea they would be playing.
My love for the game pushes me harder and I continue to get stronger. I am in the gym 6 days a week and giving 150% at every practice. Early to the field and usually the last to leave. The perfect combination to me is playing baseball and continuing my education in college - both will lead me to get the most out of life. Baseball has given me a solid foundation that I have built my goals on and structure that I embrace, but education is important to me as well. I have goals of obtaining a 4-year degree.
The game is not just a sport to me, it is a way of life....excited for the future.
