I am the person I am today because I was raised by two loving parents who supported me in my successes as well as failures. They taught me to choose the difficult right over the easy wrong. I have played baseball in the backyard with my dad since I could barely walk. My passion for baseball was fueled by my family's love for the sport. I also remember hearing stories from my grandfather about when he played pro ball with the Orioles and Angels.
From playing baseball, I have learned that attitude is everything and by having a positive attitude will result in my team and myself being successful. When a mistake is made, I "flush it" and make the next play. Keeping my composure during difficult situations is very contagious. By having a good attitude and a short memory of the bad plays, I show others how to become better ball players.
During high school I will continue to learn in all of my classes and earn a high GPA. With these good grades I would like to be eligible for scholarships in both academics as well as athletics. I currently would like to study in the field of sports medicine or business. Someday I would like to be able to use my interest in sports as a physical trainer for a professional team.
One difficult situation from my younger years, is when I did not make the "A" level travel team. I was put onto the league only team instead. This situation fueled my desire to improve. Through my hard work, dedication and leadership, I was able to help our league team take the Championship.
I am a great communicator on and off the field. I have an excellent work ethic and it was noticed by the coaching staff at Kimberly High School. I was asked to play in several games at the JV level as a freshman and I was also asked to catch bull pens for our best pitchers at the Varsity level. I am very friendly and outgoing and I get along with all personalities.
As a sophomore I started as the JV catcher and was offered several opportunities to catch for the varsity team as well play third base when not catching. For my Junior year, the Covid-19 lockout shut down our season before it could get started. It sure made me appreciate my summer club team and our games that much more.
My favorite motto that I strongly believe in is "Stay Humble, Stay Hungry."
