I believe part of being a wrestler and a role model is holding yourself and your values to a higher standard than most. I was completely heartbroken after the loss, but that didn’t give me any excuses. I still had to conduct myself as a role model and maintain my composure. I’ve always led by example and this was no different.
Despite having lost, I was able to maintain a positive outlook on the situation. I had another season ahead of me, and I knew I had another shot to come back and be successful next year. I got right back to training, and I started working even harder to achieve my goals for next year. I’m optimistic for next season because I know that with my work ethic and confidence, nothing can stop me from accomplishing anything I set my mind to.
