Carson Holsclaw '19 Recruiting Profile

I have been on a baseball field since I could hold a bat.  When I was young (around 3) my parents resuscitated the poorly maintained town baseball fields and jumped right into coaching the youth baseball league in my small home town, and continue to do so to this day.  Seeing what it takes to put heart and soul, blood, sweat and tears into something like that, as my parents did, has really given me the passion for the game of baseball.  From that time until now, I feel I grew the most as a student athlete my Junior year.  There weren't many returning Seniors, so I really had to step up and become a leader on and off the field.  I finished the season with one of the highest batting averages of the conference, I guess all those nights in the cage really did pay off.  Last season allowed me to prove to myself that the extra time spent now will lead me to becoming a solid position player at the college level.

I have been very fortunate to be part of some really amazing teams and have met some very amazing coaches and teammates through the years, with this I have learned the value of teamwork, sacrifice and leadership.  Next season, my goal is to have the team take home the Conference Championship, that hasn't happened at Northwestern since the 1980's!

I am looking for a program that will fit my academic, athletic and personal interests.  I really like to be outdoors fishing or hunting. I know that I have the talent to compete at the college level and would be an asset to any team.   I would like to pursue a Business Management degree so I can expand my family's construction company.  As a dedicated, hard working two-sport athlete, I know I would be a great addition to your team!
