Brandt Bashynski '24 Recruiting Profile

I fell in love with baseball the first time I put on a glove when I was 5. The glove was on the wrong hand, but it didn't matter. I was helping a team win. That love only grew when I first pitched in a U-8 tournament. There's no greater feeling or responsibility than putting an entire team on your back and getting the W. There's also a large chip on my shoulder. I have been second guessed by coaches at every level due to my lack of velocity.  I make up for that with command my changeup, splitter, slider, 12-6 curve, and cutter. Once a batter sees these, my 4-seam or 2-seam fastball looks like 90 mph. And then I beat those opposing pitchers with supposedly more talent. I want nothing more to continue proving doubters wrong at the college level and being a great teammate.

If you recruit me, you are getting more than a ball player. I have a solid 3.5 GPA and have taken honors courses such as AP Human Geography, AP European History, Honors Spanish, and AP Calculus. I'm also involved in Choir and have been chosen by my peers for a select singing group. You are also getting growth potential as I'm a year younger than most of my class. I have the frame and time to add strength and power.
