Austin Drayna '24 Recruiting Profile

Since the age of 3, sports have been an integral part of my life and my greatest passion.  Most of the traits that I am admired for, were learned while on the field.   I am extremely hard working both on and off the field and tend to be the first to practice and the last to leave.  I am the biggest champion for my teammates.  It is not the individuals that make the team great, it is how they come together as a family, as one unit, and work together.  I take pride in being someone that brings the team together on and off the field.  My coaches say I have nerves of steel and that they never doubt I will perform each situation they put me in.  I go into each game situation focused and calm.  I can come in with no outs, bases loaded and not break a sweat, just throw the ball to the best of my ability and feel a sense of accomplishment when I get us out of a tough situation.  Being part of a team gives me real joy and inspires me to be the best I can, not for myself but for the whole team.

I have always played baseball and thought of how great it would be to play in college.  Its’ not just a little kid’s dream anymore, it is an achievable goal that I have my eyes on.  I can’t wait until I find the right home for me from both the academic and baseball perspective as I look to start this next chapter.  I have set my target for a school that will provide a top-notch education as well as a top-notch baseball program that I can both learn from and give my all to.  Finding that perfect fit will be the highlight of my 14 years of baseball.
