My name is Jack Maize. I am 6'1, 190 lbs. I have played all infield positions at the Varsity level. I am a Senior at Shoreland Lutheran High School and I will graduate in May 2020. I have played club baseball for as long as I can remember. I love the game of baseball. I love to play it, I love to watch the game and appreciate great plays made on the field. I have strong baseball instincts and believe this is because I began baseball drills when I was very young. My parents have been a strong influence in my life. They have taught me to focus and work hard no matter what the circumstance. I can't imagine a college career without baseball.
I am a senior at Shoreland Lutheran High School. Shoreland has pushed me academically and taught me the importance of a good education. I am currently in my fourth year of the STEM engineering program. I have pushed myself outside my comfort zone each year and it has taught me the importance of hard work and perseverance in the classroom, not just on the baseball field.
I have been told by members of my church, and by an audience of parents who watched me present my Aerospace Engineering mars rover project, that I have very natural leadership qualities and I have the unique ability to command a group of people. I try to set that type of example on and off the field each and every day. I am the kind of athlete that plays hard and works harder to improve each day. I take every practice seriously and I want to be on the field. I will give it all I got each and every day. I strive to lift the team up and support them no matter what. Off the field, I am always doing exercise drills or watching game videos. I want to learn from everything I do.
This past summer we played a championship game until 1:30 AM. I started the game with HR and played hard every minute. Even though it was a long and exhausting day, I just wanted to keep playing. I had a great summer season and would welcome you to have a conversation with my coach to learn more about me.
