Jacob Guhlke '22 Recruiting Profile

I have been throwing a ball since before I can remember whether it was a baseball, football, or any other kind of ball but as a kid Baseball always stuck out to me. I have always loved how complicated but also so simple baseball can be, to normal people baseball is boring. It takes too long to complete and there isn't enough action like football or basketball but to me baseball is so simple and easy to understand. As a catcher I have to know what is always going on, I have to be able to analyze, pick up on certain tendencies from the hitters but also from the base runners, and be a leader as I can see the whole field in front of me but also help guide my pitchers throughout the game. I believe if I was given a chance to compete at the collegiate level that I would be valuable not just as a player but also as a teammate and friend.
