Ever since I was a little kid, I have wanted to play baseball. My first baseball coach, Coach Paul, had a huge impact on me and my love for baseball. He taught me the fundamentals of the game along with other things like how many stitches are on a baseball, the words to Take Me Out to the Ball Game, and that you should have 2 pieces of bubble gum. I now live in a town that is 75 miles away from him and he still comes to play catch with me.
Through athletics I have learned that I can be a leader and can encourage teammates to do their best. This leadership and confidence carry over into the classroom as well. I have received numerous awards including the Mark Robert Award for Excellence (Male Student/Citizen of the Year)(2018-2019), Top Student Intro to Family and Consumer Sciences (2018-2019), 7th Grade Carey Citizen of the Year (2017-2018), Core Male Student of the Year (2017-2018), 7th Grade Superintendent’s Choice Art Award for Laramie County School District (2017-2018), 7th Grade Student of the Semester (Fall 2017), 7th Grade Student of the Month (October 2017).
I would love to play baseball in college and at the same time prepare for life after baseball. I would like to pursue a degree in Biology, as I would like to be an optometrist when my baseball career is over. I would like to play baseball as long as possible, so hopefully I will be old when I start Optometry School. I would be a good candidate for your team because I am a good student/athlete as shown in the paragraphs above. My hard work, dedication, hustle, and excellence in the classroom, set me apart from other student athletes.
