Growing up I participated in many sports, but when I was 6 years old I fell in love with competitive cheerleading. I watched my cousin perform for a local all star cheerleading gym and joined immediately. After a couple seasons, I moved to a highly competitive gym, the California Allstars. I spent 6 years learning new flying skills and tumbling while competing at the highest levels. As a freshman in high school, I began to participate in sideline cheer which had a new element to cheerleading for me. I found that I really enjoyed the excitement of cheering for the football and basketball teams, as well as pumping up the crowds. It was my freshman year that I was introduced to STUNT The Sport. I fell in love with the methodology and synchronization of the sport. The teamwork that encompasses STUNT is integral to the victory. During the end of my sophomore year everything in life came to a halt. Covid 19 hit and stopped my second season of STUNT. Unfortunately my high school was unable to hold a STUNT season my junior year due to the restrictions that California had for Covid 19. But I am highly anticipating my senior year where I will do Varsity Cheer for sideline and for STUNT. My goals for college are to continue with STUNT and, if available, sideline cheer. I am excited to continue my cheer journey in college and to keep learning more advanced skills and stunts.
