Hi! My name is Emma Burnett and I am a Varsity Cheerleader at Durango High School, along with a level 3 All-Star Cheerleader at Dreamy Cheer. I am currently a Junior at Animas High School, in Durango Colorado, and my goal is to go to college to study Biology and Human Sciences. I want to study Sports Medicine and get a degree in that branch of the medical field. I grew up as a competitive gymnast in Southern California, at SoCal Gymnastics, but quit in 8th grade when I had to move from San Diego to Durango, then recently started cheer this school year. Throughout my cheer journey this year, I have grown to really love this sport and the people involved. Cheer has built some of my greatest friendships, built on so many skills, and helped me find something I can excitedly go to everyday and work hard in. I have always loved tumbling, and after my 2 year break from gymnastics, I have been working on getting a lot my old skills back, as well as learning new skills! I have always been a straight-A student, with a big work ethic, leadership skills, and putting in my all to everything I do. Cheer and school are my whole life, and I really want to pursue both my academic and athletic careers as I move into the next era of my education.
