My name is Mia Campion, I am in the class of 2026 and my position is a main base. I have been a cheerleader for 12 years now and have always had a strong passion and love for the sport but it wasn't until my freshman year that I made the varsity team at my high school, that I started to take my passion to a deep level. I began to take the sport more seriously as I realized how important it was to me. The pressure I felt during this time made me strive to be the best I could possibly be for myself and my team which made me grow a lot in cheer but also in life!
I strive to become the best version of myself once it comes to academics as I want to major in Business Management and or Marketing. Currently I have a GPA of 3.5 and want to maintain that GPA but also attempt to raise it. I want to find a school that best suits my athletic and academic interests and goals. During my sophomore cheer season I got injured with a concussion and had to sit out for a little under a month. Due to this injury I had to sit out of practices and the first competition of the season. That frustrated me because I wanted to be there for my team and to participate. This frustration made me strive to be better than I was before I got hurt. I will never take a practice or competition for granted ever again.
Being on my school varsity cheer team for the past 3 years has taught me how to show up for my teammates and inspire them to be the best they are because cheerleading is a team sport and that on a cheer team you are your weakest teammate! Cheer has taught me three very important values to the sport and to my life. It has taught me responsibility, trust, and growth. In a stunt group is when you experience failure after failure, I am forced to take responsibility for my faults, trust my teammates to execute our stunts, and grow from my mistakes to readjust and make our team stronger and united. With cheering nothing is predictable and you only have one time to make it right when competing. So you have to have trust within the things you can't control. I want to find a team and school who will treat me like family. And help and guide me throughout pursuing all my cheerleading and academic goals! If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me!
