Something about me? I wanted to start tumbling at an early age, my mom challenged me stating she would sign me up for tumbling classes if I could do 10 walk overs in a row. I remember pushing and trying never giving up, I made it to 10! In my very first tumbling class, 15 minutes in I broke my right arm, both bones snapped, I didn't cry, I turned to the coach and said " Sir, I may have broken my arm"... long story short, I never gave up, the orthopedic doctor told me I would have to wait 18 months before I could tumble again, I proved him wrong it took me 12 months. I was determined to do tumbling and I have never looked back. Ten years later, I am still doing what I love, and I hope to continue in College.
My name is Erin Johnston, I identify as a woman athlete. I am a competitive athlete, whether it is in cheer, soccer or regular gym class. What do I love about the sports that I do? I love seeing the fans in the crowd, getting them motivated to scream louder and push our team to victory. I love to entertain, by tumbling, and stunting on the sidelines getting my classmates to engage. In competition, I want to win, I give it my all but I also push my team mates to be the very best version. I am an athlete, I am a team mate, I am empowering to others.
Thank you!

To whom it may concern:
My name is John Barajas and I’m currently coaching with Cheer Athletics. It is my
pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Erin Johnson.
Erin was one of my former athletes during my coaching duration at Hononegah High
School for the 2020-2022 season; although she cheered previously prior to entering my program.
She established an outstanding rapport amongst the coaching staff and other athletes. Her ability
to work proficiently and productively has exceeded expectations. She is organized, hardworking,
punctual, and respected amongst her fellow teammates as a leader who truly inspires and
influences through communication and example. Erin’s ability to showcase a properly trained
athlete inside the gym and out through these actions. Her advice and knowledge has appeared in
others and helped grow my coaching aspect to continue being the best possible.
During my coaching time, Erin displayed numerous characteristics which earned her a
varsity spot quickly after tryouts took place. Being part of a handful of freshmen to make this
accomplishment. Her strong leadership skills has quickly promoted herself into a self-motivated
as a consultant and highly esteemed speaker for other athletes and programs. She stayed on
varsity for two years under my coaching duration and continues to finish out her senior year.
Also was part of the competition team which won numerous competitions as well as qualification
to the State Championships after a seven year gap. Finally was part of a quarter season allstar
team I coached where she was a Silver Summit Champion.
I am confident that Erin processes the qualities that any program would find desirable and
welcoming. I would strongly recommend her for any STUNT or cheerleading team. Her
self-discipline, work ethic, outstanding personality, and excellent leadership qualities would
without a doubt make her an asset to your program, team, and be a great candidate for a position
where leadership, presentation, communication and discipline are valued. Please don’t hesitate to
contact me for any further information.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
Respectfully,
John Barajas
