I started cheer my sophomore year of high school after dancing for 13 years previously. When I joined the team I felt extremely welcome and cheer soon because my reason to go to school everyday. I loved going to cheer for games and at the end of my sophomore cheer season my coach asked me to become a junior captain for the next season. Over the summer and before the new season started I worked with the captains to create a halftime routine and I created large portions of the dance. In my sophomore year I was mainly a side base and flyer but in my junior year I learned how to main base, spot, back spot. I learned every position possible in a stunt group so I could help fill in whenever I could. My coach told me to asked me to be a junior captain because of my commitment and determination to be better. I would love to bring that determination to a college team. After this past season my coach promoted me to a captain. During the offseason I work with my other captains in order to fundraise to allow us to go to competitions. Last year I helped make over $2,000 in order for the team to be able to purchase new uniforms. I hold much passion and commitment to cheer and I hope to be able to bring that to college with me.
