As a fiercely competitive athlete, I put my penultimate energy into everything I do. Similar to most high schools in my part of Canada, there is not a high school cheer program, so instead I have been a proud member of the Cheer Sport Sharks family as an All-Star Cheerleader. My teams have won many awards and I'm excited to be a part of Cheer Sport Shark's Queenland Shark team for the 23-23 season (U18 Co-Ed Level 5). I'm so looking foward to the highlight of the year, competing at Worlds in April '24!
I'm a flexible athlete, but particularly shine as a backspot. I've never allow a stunt to drop in competition, in my entire cheer career, and am usually backspot for our point flyer and central position to the harder manouevers in pyramid. I have all my level 5 tumbling and have solid jumps and dance skills. My tumbling is what is holding me back from placing on a level 6 or 7 team, so my goal this year is to continue to work on these skills so that maybe one day I could be on my gym's Great White Shark or Star Spotted Shark team - unless of course I get to cheer at am amazing college with a strong cheer program! I think it's important to note that while all these skills and aspirations are great, the best part of cheer however, for me, is the teamwork, comradery, and the opportunity for a full-body workout that challenges my cardio, strength and flexibility!
In my spare time, I work on my studies, run, lift weights and support my 5 year twin siblings with their sports!
School is important to me, and I aspire one day to work in either fire fighting, emergency services, nursing or social work. It's critical to me that I find a career where I can put my mental and physical stamina to work, similar to my athletic pursuits, and get to work as part of a team for the greater good of others!
