throughout the years i’ve learned a lot through cheerleading, i’ve built character, cheer requires so much hard work and dedication. we practiced two or three times a week as a team and then i would get home and practice in my backyard. cheerleading took a lot of persistence, if one of us got hurt we just had to hop back in. all of us have to put %110 all of the time, no exceptions. cheer also taught me to not care what anyone else thinks, i was heavily bullied in my grade school years because i was fat, i did not want to be stereotyped into something i wasn’t, cheer taught me a lot of confidence in myself. i can always say that i try my best and hardest in anything i do whether it’s a sport or academics, i tan pride in myself getting good grades. if i do continue cheering in college i would like to help other girls find their confidence as well, i want to be a light for everyone especially the little girls watching from the stands.
