Personal Statement
Hi there! My name is Carissa Rowland. I'm currently a Junior at The Colony High School in Lewisville, Texas.
I have been involved in cheerleading since my 8th grade year, when I was the captain of my middle school team. I went on to the TCHS Freshman Cheer team, TCHS JV Cheer team, and am approaching my 2nd year on the TCHS Varsity Cheer team. I am involved with my school and community through Student Council, where I volunteer and have over 120 community service hours. I am also involved with the Miss America Organization, and other pageant organizations that promote leadership, success, and community involvement. With those organizations I have had the opportunity to win scholarship dollars to use for education after high school.
With 5 years of cheer experience, I have been able to grow myself and other athletes to our best abilities. Ive worked at ASI Gymnastics in Plano, Texas, for 1 year, where I coach various pre-team and kinder classes, focusing on technique to get them ready for competitive gymnastics.
