All my life I have been invested in the world of sports. Growing up they dominated my life and I was able to learn about my passion for movement. I never could have pictured that one day it might be taken from me. However, when COVID struck, I was forced to let go of one of the most important things in my life. I played a variety of sports and all of them were shut down. I was left with idle time and happened to stumble across a local field hockey program. It was the only thing that was left open and I had a feeling that I would lose my mind if I couldn't do anything over the course of what seemed life the never ending quarantine.
From the moment I picked up the stick I was in love. What started as a hobby became my life as I grew in the sport and fell deeper into love with it. Standing where I am now, my main goal is to be able to play in university and give myself a chance to go for the Canadian or American Junior National Team. I am an ambitious athlete and am eager to learn as much as I can about the sport as I am still quite new to it. I am looking for a university that will allow me to connect with my team mates and challenge myself to better my skills both physically and academically.
Academics wise, I want to work in the world of exercise science or pharmaceutical sciences, either treating sports related injuries and learning about how the human body relates to physical exercise or creating medicines.
