Kaitlyn Emerson '20 Recruiting Profile

Over the past few years, I have been very lucky to have worked with and been given the opportunity to learn from many great coaches from both national and collegiate levels. Not only have I learnt tremendous skills from these coaches but I have also gained insight into what it means to be a true leader. I have taken this knowledge into my gameplay, academics as well as my everyday life and will continue to throughout my college experience!

I feel that some of my greatest strengths is how I see the field as well my coach ability. I thrive on feedback to better my game and improve on the assets I bring to my team. I successfully execute what I have been taught and wont be afraid to ask questions when needed. I have played all over the pitch, from centre defence to centre forward and have thus better learned the game of hockey from each position on the field. Although, I do prefer playing defence and midfield as I am more of a playmaker and enjoy the defensive aspect of these positions! Whether it be on the field or in the classroom, I am definitely my strongest critic and am constantly pushing myself to be the best I can be.

Off the field, I enjoy swimming, skiing, travelling and trying new things with family and friends! Although sometimes difficult, over the past few years I have learnt how to balance my academics, hockey and social life and cant wait to continue to in the future! I hope to be challenged both on and off the pitch, gaining a higher level of education and a higher level of love for the game of field hockey!
