OT 1v1 - GKPersonal Statement
I'm Lily Wierzbicki, and I'm a U19 goalkeeper attending Davis Senior High School in Davis, California. I started playing field hockey in 9th grade as a field player and after the season ended, I realized I wanted to take advantage of my soccer background and become a goalie. I worked really hard playing club, attending camps and clinics, and participating in Futures, and as a sophomore, I was the starting varsity goalkeeper for my team. We finished our season 14-0. I am extremely hardworking, and try every day to get a little bit better. I have made huge strides in the past two years, and I know I will continue to do so.
I have more to offer than just field hockey though. I have maintained a 4.2 and am in multiple honors classes. Additionally, I have a part time job and I am first chair saxophone in the high school honors band. I hope to major in Mathematics in college and would also like to continue pursuing my love of music.
As a well-rounded and dedicated student-athlete, I think I have the potential to excel at the college level as a student and as a goalie, and would love the opportunity to do so.
