Alana Packer '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches!!!!

My name is Alana Packer and my collegiate goals and aspirations are to get a great education and to have the opportunity to play field hockey at the next level.  I am proud to say that I come from a Blue Collar family and I am the oldest of 5 siblings.  I truly understand the importance of Responsibility, Hard Work and Dedication.  I played Club Soccer, on the top team, through my 8th grade year and honestly did not pick up a Field Hockey stick until the summer going into my freshmen year.  I want to thank my 8th grade PE teacher, Mr Kinsley for encouraging me to give Field Hockey a shot, for now its the sport that I truly Love.  As a Freshmen, I played Left Back and started every game.  I earned the Freshmen of the Year Award.  As a Sophomore, I played Holding Mid and helped guide our team to a 6 and 3 record during a shortened pandemic year.  As a Junior, I played Offensive Mid and transitioned to Defensive mid from time to time.  This was an amazing experience for me for I was Humbled and Honored to be recognized as 2nd Team All Conference and 2nd Team All State and be recognized with The Team MVP Award.  My High School Coaches, Coach Teryn Brill Galloway and Coach Jessica Nerowski, both former D1 Field Hockey Players, are truly amazing and have played an instrumental part in my development.  I also play for Club Lewy,  Coached by Paul Lewis, Former US Field Hockey Team Member.  Even though I have only played Field Hockey for 3 years, I'm coachable and have the mindset to get better and support my teammates any way that I can.

Academically I have been Honor Roll in every semester since middle school.  I am currently Taking AP Language and Literature, AP History and also taking Pre Veterinary Science College Courses at Pikes Peak Community College.  I have aspirations to be a Veterinarian or a Registered Nurse.
