I began playing field hockey in first grade, at the fields across from my elementary school. I started playing at Windy City Field Hockey soon after, initially in the Roots program, and working up to the travel teams. Field hockey has been such an important part of my life because of the lessons I have learned and the friendships I have made. My best friends have been a result of sharing hours on and off the field. It has allowed me to be friends with girls from other schools, towns, and even states.
Being a soccer player for years, I was able to apply my knowledge to field hockey because both sports require good vision, passing, and spacial awareness. Although I can play both forward and defense, I have really found a home playing midfield. I love being able to be both attack and back, as well as being a passing distributor in the middle, or taking the ball up the side line as an outside midfielder.
I have been so fortunate to work with amazing coaches and teammates over the years, and I enjoy being able to give back by helping coach and referee the younger girl’s games as a Big Sister.
Outside of field hockey I am a strong student at school, and love spending time with my friends and family. I play the violin as well as run track during the school off-season. I also am involved in a service program called IMPACT in which we serve volunteer hours throughout the year to ultimately go on a mission trip to another country.
Through my college experience, I am looking forward to studying at school, being able to play and work hard, and making memories with new friends I will
make!
