Hello! My name is Josey Shaffer and I am a Sophomore attending Catoctin High School. I have been playing field hockey since sixth grade and I started at the Varisty level as a Freshman. While I haven’t been playing Field Hockey all my life, I have been an athlete from a very early age. I am a multi-sport athlete, but I find myself most successful and passionate for field hockey. I know that playing in the collegiate level is a once in a lifetime opportunity and experience that will change my life.
As a midfielder, I have great stick skills and speed that help make my game stronger. I value teamwork and try to set my teammates up for success as well as encourage them to be the best they can be. I’m very coachable and I try to take in anything my coach says and apply it to the field. Academically, I have a kept a 4.0 gpa and achieved honor roll my freshman year. While I don’t have much free time as a three sport athlete, I am trying to get myself more involved with the community and volunteering. I want to attend a college that will push me not only on the field, but in the classroom too. I am open to any colleges that will provide me the highest level of competition possible, but also be the right college for my future.
