Growing up, I played almost every sport. Field hockey, one of them, sparked my interest through constantly watching it when my older sister played. I knew that I wanted to try it ever since then. Learning the basics until my first competitive year of playing put everything into perspective. While being a part of the Andover High School Junior Varsity Team as a freshman, I knew that this was going to be a passion of mine. With hard work during the offseason, I managed to make the Varsity team my sophomore year. My teammates and coaches around me are who truly motivated me to become a better athlete day in and day out.
I joined the Seacoast Field Hockey Club my sophomore year to improve on my skill level, in hopes to become a starter. With the coaches seeing potential in me, I had the opportunity to be selected for the Shooting Stars Regional Cup Team. At first, it was a bit overwhelming considering it was my first year in the program or playing club field hockey; however, my work ethic and motivation to continue to improve is what enhanced my play as an athlete and teammate. I improved on my communication and field vision, along with much more consistent and stronger skills. I brought that same confidence to my past high school season, and we ended up being the Division I Massachusetts State Champions and I was able to play a contributing role.
While always motivating myself to grow on the field, I do the same in the classroom. Maintaining and growing past my 4.4 GPA (3.97 unweighted) is what I strive to do in high school. I look for that same academic challenge in college. Withal, my goal is to find a school where I will thrive on the field and in the classroom.
