Madeleine Miller '22 Recruiting Profile

I grew up playing almost every sport that my small town in Massachusetts offered, anything from dive team, soccer, gymnastics and lacrosse. However, the only sport that I have never stopped loving is field hockey. From 4th grade to my now high school team I've always looked forward to the fall season and summer preseason. Three years ago I decided to expand my field hockey experience outside of the typical town teams and began playing club with True Grit under Kathleen Boyle's instruction. My love for the sport grew even more as I was able to play year round on a team that was quickly becoming more and more well known. In the winters we play indoor field hockey with a different set of rules which allows us all to focus on different skills that we can carry out to our regular season games. As a player I have a great perception of the field and how to predict the play or objective of the other team before it happens. I am good at quick shots and placement, and I have a reliable drive. I work my hardest no matter if its a tiny practice or important game because I am always looking to better my skills. I celebrate everyones achievements no matter how big or small, and I am always looking for ways to make my team closer because friends who support each other win championships.
