Starting in 4th grade, I always looked up to the players on the middle and high school field hockey teams, and I couldn't wait to get on the field. Following a move to a new town that did not offer field hockey, I was finally able to play in 8th grade when I joined the middle school team in a neighboring town. This was challenging both because of the travel involved and because I did not know any of my teammates, forcing me to start fresh both at my new school and on the team as a first year player. The leap was worth it, however, and by the end of the season I was named team MVP. By the end of that first season, I knew: Field hockey is everything to me. I love to play and also to be part of a team. Attending a large regional high school, I earned a spot on our school's JV team as a freshman and was made Captain as a sophomore. Serving as Captain of JV, I further developed my leadership skills and was able to share my passion for the game, helping my team go undefeated our entire season. I joined Cape Ann Field Hockey Club to play during the winter indoor and spring/summer outdoor seasons of my freshman year while also participating on the Varsity swim team and JV lacrosse team at my school and maintaining a 4.0 GPA. In my sophomore year, I joined NorthEast Elite FHC which helped me further my development as a player and leader. I would love to contribute my dedication and enthusiasm to a program that is challenging both academically and athletically, and look forward to continuing to play throughout my collegiate years.
