I've been involved with sports since I was 6 months old starting with swimming lessons. I have played year-round a variety of sports as I feel it has always been in my best interest to participate in many so that I can not only use different muscle groups but also get a variety and not be burned out by only playing one. I played soccer for 8 years, swim team for 2 years, danced competitively for 2 years, basketball for 8 and counting, two years of Track - where I am the reigning Massachusetts state champion in the Turbo Javelin throw, softball for 7 years, and Lacrosse for 8 years. As I began my high school career I made the switch from soccer to field hockey and made the Varsity team as not only a freshmen but new player. During this past season I helped captain a back defensive line that helped lead our team to the playoffs for the first time in over 4 years. During this time, I have always put 100% commitment to not only my team but also to myself in practice and always trying to be the best person and player there is. I believe in the motto that there is no I in the word Team and try to be the best teammate there is. I help bring commarderie and sportsmanship to all of the teams I've been a part of which have included not only many championship teams but also last place finishers also. I know that playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my whole life.
I have excellent stick skills using both hands, I see the field well and always hustle. I am a team leader and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players and one of the hardest working recruits you’ll find.
Playing sports has also allowed me to excel academically also. When you only have limited time for studying or academics due to the sports timetable it allows me to focus and perform at the highest levels. I am taking the highest level of classes offered at my high school and prefer math and sciences overall. I am hoping to take the dedication that I have of being a student-athlete to the next level in my collegiate career as well as a field hockey player.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and in field hockey. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers and make my parents proud.
