I'm a determined and disciplined student athlete and put my energies into doing the best I can when faced with a challenge. All during my athletic pursuits, I have been a high performing individual and teammate for academy level soccer teams, been named Rookie of the Year for my HS Field Hockey team. During my sophomore year, because of my strong running times, I devoted more time to XC and T&F, and I've been a part of County and Sectional Champion teams while qualifying for NYSPHSAA state meets in my Freshman and Sophomore seasons. During my Junior year, i really missed FH so I returned to the team and club and started every game for my HS team that made it to the final four of the NYSPHSAA FH championships. At 15, I retired from competitive Irish Dance after an accomplished career winning multiple MidAtlantic regional titles, North American national titles, Top 3 placements at every International Major (All Ireland, All Scotland and Great Britains) and several world medal (Top 20) placements at the World Championships. To prepare for that elite level takes a tremendous amount of sacrfice and effort and that has not only helped me as I transitioned into HS sports but also with my academic achievements.
Through the end of Junior year, I've maintained a 94 (97.5 weighted) average and feel I am a natural leader both in and outside the classroom. I really enjoy working on teams even though I may have individual events because when we are all working to a goal, it makes acheiving that goal all the more satisfying. I respect hard work and am willing to put in the effort to achieve it.
Currently, I think I would like to pursue a career in Physical Therapy because I like sciences and think it would be interesting to work with people needing help to recover from an injury or an operation.
