Caitlin OMalley '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Caitlin O'Malley. I am a senior at Northport High School in Northport, New York. I am the captain of the 2023 Northport Varsity Field Hockey Team! I have been on the team since my sophomore year. We have won 2 New York State Class A Championships, 3 Suffolk County Championships, and 3 Long Island Championships. I was the starting Sweeper during my junior year, and currently start as Center Defender/Midfielder on the 2023 team. I am also the sole inserter for all offensive corners. I was recently recognized as one of Newsday's Top 50 Field Hockey Players on Long Island. For the 2023 season I was named the Suffolk County Defensive Player of the Year. I was also awarded with All-State, Newsdays All-Long Island First Team and All Long Island Tournament Team recognition. During my junior year I was recognized with an All-County Honorable Mention Award. I have a 4.0 GPA and take AP and IB level classes. I am a member of the National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars. I would love to pursue an education in broadcast journalism while playing field hockey at the next level.
