Madelyn Verstraten '21 Recruiting Profile

As a student-athlete, I've struggled with certain aspects on the field and off, but continually I try to resolve whatever problems come upon my team and I. For any team I have been on I have been someone the players can go to for anything. For every training my teammates and I have done that my coaches never knew about because we wanted to get better. i continually run, and practice to push myself to become not only a better player but a better person who always tries to achieve their goals. my aspirations toward field hockey changed my sophomore year, I got pulled up to varsity was a sub for every position for wherever my team needed me at the time. since then I realized I am very versatile in my positions I play in field hockey, even through junior season I started as a center back, then went to left midfield and then lastly right forward where I found I get most of my goals. Since that sophomore season I started playing more field hockey, I realized I want to go to college and challenge myself against stronger, better players but then work myself to become an elite player.
