Field hockey is my passion. I started in the summer going into 7th grade and as a freshman in high school I made my varsity team playing as a starter. Since the beginning I haven't been able to put down my stick. I give 110% at all practices because that is my time to improve and strengthen my confidence. In games I give 110% because that is my chance to show my skill individually and how well my team can work together. We each bring something different to the table and use our strengths to our advantage but also support each others downfalls and help bring each other back up. My strengths are being a team player, speed to either lead and assist the forwards in a fast break, work with my fellow midfielders to transition the ball up the field or to support my defenders and help cover when they get overwhelmed by their opponent, agility to be able to move, guard and cut around my opponents, strength to exert the ball at higher speeds to shoot more powerfully and to have accurate passes over long distances and skill to keep the ball controlled and use my dominant and nondominant stick sides. Except for goalie, my positions range all over the field. As I play travel for my club team, Rye Field Hockey Academy, for tournaments, I not only gain new friendships but I gain new experiences by playing against other teams and players that my team and I can learn from.
My second passion is golf. I have played it for many years growing up but once I started varsity in 7th grade my golf game changed. I improved in all facets of the game and my handicap continues to get lower as I continue to learn and play.
Academically, I love school. I peruse classes that are going to challenge me intellectually and that I enjoy such as Honor and AP classes. My favorite subjects are the math's and science's. I want to continue to grow in athletics and education.
