I have played organized field hockey for the past five years. My position is forward which I believe suits my natural abilities. My speed and endurance, which I continue to work on in track and field at Dallas High School, are two of my best attributes. Also, I am a natural passer from the forward position. Although I love to score, getting an assist is equally satisfying. I was offensive MVP as a freshman on the Junior Varsity and this past season practiced and played with the Junior Varsity and Varsity. Fortunately, I was able to get a good deal of Varsity playing time during both freshman and sophomore years. We had a largely senior Varsity team this past season, so I get my chance next year to start and play full-time with them. I can't wait. I love the team unity and spirit of field hockey and look forward to experiencing the same in college, as well as make friends for life through this sport. My Dad is a full-time professor and I have the privilege of going to many different colleges and universities for little or no cost. Frankly, I do not need a college scholarship for financial reasons. I want to earn a scholarship and am willing to continue to be a successful student athlete throughout high school and college. I do not want to go to college and simply focus on academics. I desire a complete college experience, similar to high school, involving academics, sports and extracurricular activities.
