Personal Statement

I started playing field hockey, my freshman year, but I've always been interested in the sport, I just never had the chance to play. Instead, I've done other things like soccer, karate, dance, and swim so when my high school started a field hockey team I knew I wanted to join. Playing on the field for the first time and experiencing the rush and adrenaline I got working with my teammates in this sport, became something I wanted to continue feeling. I've always wanted to play a sport at the college level since I was little when listening to others talk about their own experiences and how playing in college affected them. I want to be able to get my own unique experience with a sport that I love and that I know will impact my life in a great way.

I play strongly as a defensive player and sweeper as well as an occasional midfielder. I encourage my teammates as much as possible to push themselves during practice so they can do their best on the field. I am able to pick up drills and skills quickly and am very coachable. I never deny something my coach asks me to try and always take a chance at something new during practice. I work to be one of the hardest-working players on the field and best support to my teammates on the field, at practice, and even at home.

In the classroom, I strive to get the best grades I can first thing in the semester and work to keep them high throughout the semester and school year. I also work to help my classmates and underclassmen so they can do the best they can in the classroom and show their best selves to their teachers and peers.

I want to go to a college that will continue to push me both in the classroom and on the field. I'm open to any type of school and my end goal is to find the best college for me to continue playing at and also get a great education that will benefit my future. I want to go to a college that will make me better so I can be a role model to others around me and make the people in my life proud of me, on and off the field.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
