Playing field hockey in college has always been one of my main goals in life. I started playing in 3rd grade and instantly fell in love with the sport, so being able to play in college would mean so much to me and my family who supported me playing all these years.
When I was younger there was no field hockey team at my school, so from 3rd grade to 5th grade I had been going to clinics/camps and playing anywhere I got the chance, then in 6th grade, I joined the town's rec team. That's when my journey really started to kick off, the next year I joined the middle school team and started playing more seriously. Our middle school seasons were good, I remember winning almost all our games and only losing one or two each year. We kept up our winning streak into high school when I reached JV.
This past season was my first year on varsity after our senior goalie left, it was a tough first season to be on varsity especially because of covid. Getting used to wearing masks while running was hard for everyone, but my team and I pulled through and made it to D2 finals. Then I helped bring my team to victory after we went into double overtime and a shootout against me and the opposing goalie.
I plan to continue this winning streak into the next season and into all of my seasons after that, playing at a college level would be so amazing, I can't wait!
