From the time I started playing field hockey in seventh grade, I immediately fell in love with the sport. I was in ninth grade when I realized I wanted to play at a collegiate level. However, during my freshman year, I experienced a season ending injury. It took a lot of perseverance and dedication to overcome the setback. I returned to the field my sophomore year with more skill and agility than I ever had before. My achievement was recognized by my coaches and teammates and, as a result, I received the coaches '360 Award' for being able to come full-circle through my down time. It is that determination that drives me to improve upon my capabilities both for myself and my team. I continue to push myself in practice and games so I can develop the skills necessary to play at a college level. Field Hockey has taught me how to work hard and fight for what I want in all aspects of my life. It has helped to make me a better student, athlete, and person. The injury made me realize not only how much I love this sport, but how strong of a player and person I can truly be. I appreciate you taking the time to learn more about me! :)
