Jocelyne Smith '18 Recruiting Profile

I look forward to the opportunity to continue playing field hockey at the collegiate level.  Ever since I started in 5th grade,  I've known I wanted to make field hockey a big part of my life. From hitting on goal in my backyard to late night practices alone at my high school field, I've always been driven to put the extra work in. My high school team showed me how great a team that works together and, most importantly, cares for each other can be.  In college, I imagine that the athletes that are just there for a sport to put on their transcript will have been filtered out, and I will be playing on a team of people who want to be there more than anything. I want a strong team that works as a family on and off the field; I know the importance of encouraging teammates and challenging one another to do our best.   I never let an off season slow my progress,  and I am determined to always be better than the day before.  I am  excited about taking my game to the next level, and stand ready to do the hard work to make that happen.
