In my career as a football player, adversity is something I have never shied away from. I have always had to fight for everything that came my way. Since the day I was born, football was all around me. At the age of 7, I became infatuated with the sport and began to play. In the time spent in youth and high school football, I have found myself to be a leader through example and role model to my team mates as a dedicated and persevering athlete. Using the adversity as a catalyst to continue to make gains in training was never so much a trial as it was this past year. Having to train on my own in order to stay on top of my game was difficult. The pandemic was the most trying obstacle I had ever had to work through. Friends and trainers had to be turned down in order for me to keep my parents and grandparents safe. Watching others go to facilities or train together was heartbreaking, but it kept me motivated to get in the gym to lift and do the cardio, in order to compete once we were able to have a season.
As a child of a teacher, grades and college are vitally important. My plans for the future include earning a graduates or masters in education and possibly a minor in psychology or Spanish. Drive and perseverance are traits which have spurred me to do well in the the classroom, as well as on the field. Familial support is instrumental in motivating me to do my best in both areas. I believe my family has shown me that staying passionate and focused are attributes necessary to progress regardless of the goal.
