Hello, My name is Aiden Ishimaru. I am currently a Junior at Salinas high school where I am the starting right guard at the varsity level. I've played this position my entire high school career. My varsity team tied for first place in the A1 division in the central coast section of the California Scholastic Federation. My team played into the second round of the open division of the state playoffs but lost to Serra high school which later went central division title for California. I started and protected our quarterback to help lead us to our first-place finish and sectional playoffs. During my time as a right guard, I was able to run block, down the block, and outplay larger Defensive Linemen. I had over 28 pancake blocks for the season and only one holding penalty.
Outside of athletics, I carry over a 4.20-grade point average, I feel that working in the classroom is as important as working on the football field. I am determined in the classroom taking many AP classes as well as honor classes to make sure that the intelligence is needed to obtain a college degree and eventually attend medical school to give back to my community. I am different from other recruits because I dedicate as much time to learning and understanding the game of football as I do being a scholar athlete. I am determined to be the first person in my family to play sports in college.
My character sets me apart from other recruits as well as I was a captain of my JV football Team. I feel it's important to lead by example and help those players that are still working on their techniques. I always keep a level head and encourage all my teams whether it is in the classroom, on the field or around town. Being a leader is something that is a privilege and with privilege comes responsibility. When my head coach asks for volunteers to support younger players I motivate my teammates to be a positive, present role model for them.
I am looking for a school that offers a very high level of education, and a football program that is more like a family. I am interested in a school that offers me an opportunity to make lifelong friends outside of school. I am looking for a school that can also help me in the long run later in life and teach me skills that I haven't learned.
