My goals during my college experience are to develop the leadership knowledge, skills, and attributes to be a successful small business owner. Additionally, during my time as a student-athlete, I will apply the lessons learned from my lived experience to develop others to meet their fullest potential. Football has opened every door in my life that was otherwise closed. Growing up with learning challenges, I worked twice as hard as my classmates to achieve similar academic results. On the football field, in the classroom, in the gym, and my community, working twice as hard is what I do. I couldn't play games unless I achieved academic success. So I worked with specialists, tutors, and Orton-Gillingham mentors. Then I went to work at practice, in the weight room, at my job, and in the community as a volunteer. I set goals, I achieved those goals, and then I set higher goals. As a freshman, the team needed a quarterback. Even though I was a punter, I earned the starting QB and punter positions and kept them all year. We didn't win a single game. I learned lessons of personal accountability, and putting in the extra time on my own when no one was watching. I will bring all these lessons, and this work ethic to being a college football student-athlete. I earned a 3.4 GPA in high school, and I am committed to continually increasing my GPA. I have spent the offseason improving my skills, both on the field and in the classroom. I have embraced every opportunity and invitation as a blessing to show up, compete, and learn. I will continue to demonstrate that I will be a productive, accountable member of your school, your community, your football team, and my teammates.
